1) What's your favorite work task? What's your most challenging work task?
My favorite work task is researching and finding ways to introduce potential clients to PSM. Day to day, having the opportunity to learn about new businesses, connecting with smart and dynamic people and helping them find great partnerships (hopefully) with us is such a fun and rewarding adventure.
It is also the most challenging. Not everyone likes getting my phone calls or emails. Why don't you want to grab a beer and find out if we would be a good fit? What do you mean you already have an agency partner who is doing good work? It’s a grind—but it’s definitely well worth the hustle.
2) How has your digital marketing knowledge changed how you perceive the world?
While sometimes scary, I continue to appreciate how boundless digital marketing, advertising, and commerce industries really are.
My hope is that with the appropriate transparency and security, businesses and advertisers are able to remain reasonable and effective in this space.
3) What was the best minute of your life?
That full minute after my daughter was born and I became a Dad. And every minute with her since. (Awww.)
4) If you could sign *any* client, who would it be? How would you pitch them?
Under Armour. I would walk in the room wearing a mix of Under Armour, Nike and Adidas clothing and equipment with a specific story about each.
I’d talk about how and why I thought Nike and Adidas outperformed Under Armour with their search efforts on those products and how we could help them compete better.
5) What 3 people would you invite over for a barbecue? What's on the menu?
Frank Sinatra, Michael Jordan, Don Draper. Steaks on the grill and cold beers. Cigars for dessert.
