Perfect Search Media Internviews: Summer 2017 Part I

Forget all those summer superhero blockbusters. The biggest hit of the season has finally arrived: Perfect Search Internviews! Read on to learn more about Junior Analysts Natalie Filippi and Luciana Jansen.

1) Where are you from? If you could plan a tour of your hometown, what 3 stops would you pick and why?

I'm from Saint Charles, a western suburb of Chicago. The first stop on our tour would be Hotel Baker, a national historic landmark in downtown Saint Charles. The hotel has had many famous guests and weddings in it; it's a must-see for tourists. The next stop would be Neo Pizzeria. Neo is my personal favorite restaurant in Saint Charles, even though there are so many great ones. Nothing beats brick-oven pizza and fresh, imported burrata. For our final stop, we would go to Kimmer's ice cream. Their unique flavors are homemade and constantly changing.

2) What's your favorite digital marketing task so far? What's something you're excited to learn more about in digital marketing?

So far my favorite task is client reporting calls. I like updating our clients on the progress that has been made and showing them that our hard work pays off and is benefiting their business. I am excited to learn more about social media marketing.

I am excited to learn more about social media marketing. I find it amazing how specific Facebook can get when targeting an audience for an ad.

3) How would you explain your internship to a kindergartner?

At my internship, I help companies get customers by making their websites easy to use. I help them choose the best words to write in order to generate more traffic.

4) The Lollapalooza organizers have decided to make you in charge of the festival next year. Who's headlining? What kinds of food trucks would you invite? Any new things you'd add?

This is a tough one because I love music and food, it would be hard to only pick a few. Lana Del Rey would be my first pick for a headline with Chance The Rapper and The Weeknd coming in a close second. I'd hire food trucks like Cheesie's grilled cheese, Firecakes donuts, and obviously Giordano's deep dish pizza.

1) Where are you from? If you could plan a tour of your hometown, what 3 stops would you pick and why?

I was born and raised in Recife, Brazil. Recife is located in the Northeast, where you can find some of the best beaches in Brazil (and in the world!). One of my stops would definitely be Porto de Galinhas, an amazing beach located about 1 hour away from downtown. Then we'd do a tour of Recife Antigo, the historical part of town with buildings dating back to the 16th-century Dutch and Portuguese settlements. It's a nice place to visit as well since it has a good mix of history and entertainment. The last stop would be Tio Pepe, one of my favorite restaurants to find delicious local food.

2) What's your favorite digital marketing task so far? What's something you're excited to learn more about in digital marketing?

I have enjoyed many of the tasks I have been assigned, but I think my favorite so far is writing ad copy and meta descriptions. I have always been a very concise writer, so having to come up with effective ads and descriptions that follow the character limit can be pretty fun, especially if the client allows for some more creativity.

Moving forward, I am excited to start doing more advanced PPC and SEO tasks so I can put the theoretical part of our training into practice.

3) How would you explain your internship to a kindergartner?

I would say that I am learning how to help companies find clients through online ads in places like Google and Facebook, as well as helping them show up more often and in top positions at Google (and other search engines) when someone looks for the kind of product or service they provide.

For example, let's say someone wants to buy cake for a party. The clients we work with pay us to help their website be one of the first ones to show when that person googles "party cakes" or "birthday cakes." We also help them find those people who we know want to buy cake on social media or other sites and show them their product and offers through online advertisements.

4) The Lollapalooza organizers have decided to make you in charge of the festival next year. Who's headlining? What kinds of food trucks would you invite? Any new things you'd add?

I would definitely invite all of my favorite bands, including (but not limited to) Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, Pearl Jam, Muse, Mumford & Sons, Metallica, Sticky Fingers, Stone Sour... I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but that's just an overview. I'd add a Brazilian Bowl (or any other delicious Brazilian food place) food truck because I'm in charge and that's what I like, but I'm sure many people would appreciate it! Oh, and puppies and dogs would be allowed, for obvious reasons.
